Back To School

Every year Caring 4 Kidz donates backpacks and supplies to a school that needs the extra help.  This year we were lucky enough to ask Lori Poorman, A Broward County school teacher [and friend], to choose the school that she felt needed the help the most.  Lori chose Charles R. Drew Elementary [1000 NW 31st Ave., Pompano Beach, FL 33069] - the Principal is Angline Flowers.  After Lori contacted the school, she asked that we donate shirts and belts instead of backpacks and supplies.  So, we went shopping and got all the shirts and belts we could stand, along with 50 backpacks that we chose to donate as well.
We would also like to thank Jeanise, who went out on her own and purchased school supplies that she donated to the Pompano Chamber of Commerce.
Again, we would like to thank everyone that has donated to our organization - without all of you we surely could not do everything we are able to do to help the less fortunate right here in our own backyards.  It is a great feeling to know that those little children will not feel awkward going to school everyday, because their family cannot afford to get them the necessary things for school.
Have an awesome day, everyone!

Helping Lena

On Friday night, August 19, 2011, Christine was watching Channel 7 news when a story came on about a 14 year old girl named Lena, who is suffering from Leukemia.  While Lena was at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital getting her Chemo treatments something horrible happened.  A man broke into her grandmothers house, where she lives, and stole electronics out of her room, as well as her brothers, and some gifts that she had just recently received from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital was kind enough to replace her PS3, but that still left Lena and her brother without their computers and an XBOX360.  That very night Christine contacted Channel 7 and informed them that our organization, Caring 4 Kidz, would like to help replace some of the stolen items.  First thing Saturday morning Christine received a call back form Channel 7 letting her know that they will take the help offered.

As soon as Christine hung up her and I and were off and running to Office Depot where we bought Lena a brand new computer.  Office Depot was kind enough to take $50.00 off the price of the computer.  Then on to another store where we purchased an XBOX360.  Soon after we were meeting with Channel 7 at Lena's grandmothers house to drop off the items - Lena and her grandmother were so thankful that we were there to help.  There is no better feeling in the world that we, a small non-profit organization, could help just a little.  I tip my hat to you Christine for catching this one, considering I don't ever watch the news!

Attached is the link for the story that was aired on Channel 7.  We are also trying to make sure we can raise enough money to replace Lena's brothers gaming system through our Golf Tournament being held on September 10, 2011.  If you, or anyone you know, would like to help we gladly accept donations and/or you can participate in the Golf Tournament.  For more information please send an e-mail to CARING4KIDZINC@AOL.COM

This is truly what our organization is all about, helping make a difference one child at a time.  I feel so incredibly blessed to be a part of a company that can help change a child's life by the little things that we do.
